STITCH SKETCH: Daffodils
STITCH SKETCH: Daffodils
Daffodils
Chainstitch Embroidery on Fresh Water Textiles Linen
18” x 18”
Here in Northern Michigan we are still desperate for spring. There is snow in the forecast for today and tomorrow. But standing tall and proud to defy the long grasp of winter are the glorious daffodils! Their heads bob in the still-biting wind, but there they are, golden and pale and magnificent. A true reminder that there is something coming, something warmer and brighter.
I have taken a little break from the stitch sketches in order to work on pieces for my show coming up, but it’s been lovely to dive back into one of these!
This is meant to be part of an ongoing series in which I release a couple of small chainstitched wall hanging every week. They are sketches of ideas, meditations on concepts, beginnings of paths. Some will turn into bigger pieces, maybe even series, but this is a platform for me to experiment with new ideas.
Thanks y’all. :)
