Last week a storm rolled through this part of Michigan and turned the skies over the water that deep dark blue grey that makes your skin bristle in the most magical way. If the sun shines through just right, which it did then, it lights up the birch trees with the most powerful glowing spotlight. It’s such a stunning sight, I think this may be just the beginning of my attempts to capture it.

This is meant to be part of an ongoing series in which I release a couple of small chainstitched wall hanging every week. They are sketches of ideas, meditations on concepts, beginnings of paths. Some will turn into bigger pieces, maybe even series, but this is a platform for me to experiment with new ideas.
