This was an experiment for a collaboration I’m working on, and I knew from the second I started stitching the petals that I loved it! Lavender is one of those flowers that is just begging to be stitched. I especially love stitching the twine, as embroidery thread is often what I use to bundle and dry my herbs. :)
These stitch sketches are meant to be studies of plants. They are sometimes trial and error for a larger idea, or the early stages of a series. Sometimes they are just stitches of something I can’t get out of my system until it’s on fabric!
