It seems the first thing I have to do every time I come to West Texas is stitch another prickly pear. They keep eluding me! Those blues and greens keep me drooling on every hike, and maybe I’ll spend my life trying to figure out how to capture them.
These stitch sketches are meant to be studies of plants. They are sometimes trial and error for a larger idea, or the early stages of a series. Sometimes they are just stitches of something I can’t get out of my system until it’s on fabric!
