In my continued journey to figure out my relationship with non-native plants, I offer up this version of the Lilac! What a beautiful staple of spring it is here, filling the air with its lusty aromas and lining the fields with glowing purples. It surrounds my studio right now, and I have been wanting to try to stitch it since last year at this time. It was a tricky one to stitch! I tend to lean toward movement and gestures over details and specifics in my plant portraits. But this lilac blurred those lines for me. This is just what the stitch sketch is for, studying plants!
