Autumn in Northern Lower Michigan is quite the spectacle, and it’s my favorite time of year. The change in the air signifies that it is now time to slow, to quiet, to observe, to rest, to ruminate, to dream. Each leaf that falls is a wild universe of color and texture…they astonish me! They are so gestural and expressive as they make their swan dive to the earth below, bursting with life just before they die. In this series I hope to capture a bit of their mystery and story.
Each of these Leaf Portraits comes with the actual inspirational leaf I used to stitch the piece. :)
